WHO WE ARE

Red Arrow Robotics is the robotics program of Lowell Area Schools in Lowell, MI.

Our program includes four FIRST Robotics teams:

  • FIRST Robotics Competition Team 3234 is the high school level team open to any interested 9th through 12th grader.

  • FIRST Tech Challenge Team 21353 is our middle school level team open to any interested 6th, 7th or 8th grader.

We are a community-based program in Lowell, Michigan.  We are supported by Lowell Area Schools, but are open to all 6th through 12th grade students who live in the Lowell area, whether they attend Lowell Area Schools or not.  Thanks to the support of the Michigan Department of Education, Lowell Area Schools, and our generous local sponsors, we are proud to offer this programming at no cost to our student members.  Our number one priority is to ensure that any interested young people can benefit from participating in robotics.  It costs nothing to join the team and no prior experience is required.  Our dedicated team of mentors and experienced robotics competitors are eager to welcome you to the team and teach you everything you need to know to participate in this exciting competition.

WHAT IS THE FIRST ROBOTICS COMPETITION?

Combining the excitement of sport with the rigors of science and technology.

We call FIRST Robotics Competition the ultimate Sport for the Mind. High-school student participants call it “the hardest fun you’ll ever have.”

Under strict rules, limited time and resources, teams of students are challenged to raise funds, design a team "brand," hone teamwork skills, and build and program industrial-size robots to play a difficult field game against like-minded competitors. It’s as close to real-world engineering as a student can get. Volunteer professional mentors lend their time and talents to guide each team. Each season ends with an exciting FIRST championship
